Tracy Eagle Soars as Co-Boss of Betty's Toy Box

They say sisterhood is powerful. For proof, you need look no further than Tracy and Carolyn Eagle, two sisters who have built not just one but three online retail brands together.

Originally from Montreal, the Eagles are co-owners of Betty’s Toy Box, which was named 2026 XMAs Online Boutique of the Year. They also run its Canadian sister site, Naughty North, as well as Pleasure Curve, which caters to plus-size shoppers. These feminist, high-end B2C sites have been steadily gaining recognition in the industry, thanks to the Eagle sisters’ passion for people — whether customers, colleagues or friends.

From online conversations to doing our first in-person trade shows this past year, I love building community and creating spaces where people feel comfortable.

It was Carolyn, the elder sister, who kicked off their adventure in the pleasure sector, but it wasn’t long until younger sibling Tracy followed like a duck into a lake — though it took a little time for her to fully immerse herself.

“It was definitely Carolyn’s idea,” laughs Tracy Eagle. “I’d been cheering her on from the sidelines for a few years and as things got busier, she asked if I could work part-time hours around my full-time job. Fast-forward nine years and what started as ‘just helping out’ has turned into my full-time career.”

 Like many in the industry, her path here began in a very different field.

“Before entering the sex toy retail business, I spent 12 years at home raising my three children,” Eagle explains. “Once they were older, I worked as a mental health crisis counselor and then transitioned into special needs education. While expanding Betty's Toy Box, I continued working full-time in the school system, then shifted to part-time.”

This past year, she finally made the leap to focus on Betty's Toy Box. It came as a relief in some ways, since now she would no longer have to worry about keeping her adult retail gig a secret to prevent damage to her reputation.

“I was working in elementary education, so I felt like I was leading a double life,” Eagle recalls. “Working with minors, it was important for me to protect how I was perceived professionally. People can be surprisingly uptight and judgmental when it comes to anything related to sex. I appeared quite conservative at school — while behind the scenes, I was building our brand, earning nominations and writing blog posts on the best products for blended orgasms.”

Tracy started her career in the adult space innocently enough, focusing primarily on customer service and order fulfillment.

“This felt like a natural place for me to get involved and learn about the business,” says Eagle. “Over the years, I took on managing our affiliate program and handling our social media.”

These days, Eagle harnesses her strengths by shaping and sharing the business brand voice on social media and through industry partnerships.

“I love connecting with our customers, hearing what they need and making sure our wellness focus really shines through,” she affirms. “From online conversations to doing our first in-person trade shows this past year, I love building community and creating spaces where people feel comfortable, supported and safe enough to explore.”

Online shops often struggle to match the personality, warmth and in-person knowledge that brick-and-mortar stores offer, but these Canadian sisters have worked to provide a comparable experience. Tracy shoots video content too, reviewing top toys and has even taken customers behind the scenes at the ANME trade show. The goal: to create an online sex toy boutique with entertaining sex-ed and an inclusive, welcoming atmosphere.

“Betty’s Toy Box started as a one-stop shop for customers worldwide and I believe it still is,” says Eagle. “Our main focus has always been education and helping customers make informed decisions about what works best for their bodies.”

Later, the Eagle sisters opened Naughty North.

"It just made sense to better serve our fellow Canadians,” says Tracy. “As Canadians, we understand the frustration of higher prices, astronomical shipping fees and cross-border customs costs.”

Finally, the pair opened their third online retail outlet: Pleasure Curve. True to its name, the Eagles focused this website on providing plus-sized women with everything they might need for an extraordinary sex life.

“Not all pleasure products are designed with larger bodies in mind,” notes Eagle. “So we hand-pick items that offer more reach, comfort and accessibility, such as toys with larger openings, longer handles and other plus-size-friendly features. Every product listing includes our proprietary ‘Curve Appeal,’ explaining exactly why that product works well for a bigger body.”

This year, the Eagle sisters are building on what they have already created by really honing in on who their customer base is and how they can best serve them.

“We’ll continue to grow our visibility within Canada by exploring new partnerships, joining wellness conversations and attending in-person events,” says Tracy Eagle. “We want to ensure that education, wellness and community remain at the heart of what we do.”

Tracy hopes her contributions to the pleasure space can help light the way for other female entrepreneurs.

“Start by identifying your true strengths and how you want to present yourself in this space,” she advises. “Network as much as you can and seek out opportunities to form partnerships. Attend the shows, familiarize yourself with your reps and even connect with people you might consider competitors.

“We can all learn from one another,” she concludes. “The more we collaborate and shed light on the industry, the more we can help bring sexual wellness into the mainstream.”
