Underground features so many amazing Vivid stars that they couldn't fit all of the names onto the box. It's a virtual Vivid "who's who," and chances are there are two or three (if not four or five) of your favorites included here.
The flick follows a fashion show, featuring, of course, adult star extraordinaire Tera Patrick, who it is rumored (within the film) will be going the independent route after her final show.
The movie's shot in two styles. First, there's the Access Hollywood-shot-with-a-handheld-video-cam style, with a television crew and interviewer Sissy Morgan roaming the event snagging interviews. Second, there's the use of a quality film stock. The movie jumps back and forth between these two modes of presentation and the effect is interesting and unique.
The characters are entertaining, from the hilarious, clearly homosexual clothing designer played perfectly by Steven St. Croix to the tough businessman Paul Ford (played by Tommy Gunn) to the troubled and sexy star Tera Patrick. Penny Flame is very good as the somewhat dimwitted antagonist, Sissy Morgan, who, of course, gets her just desserts by the time the credits roll.
The plot's straightforward, though there's a small subplot centering around a couple who is cheating on their respective spouses with each other. This scenario seems tacked on, serving only to add more sex scenes to the proceedings. I have no complaints about that, however. I'm always up for more sex.
Speaking of which, this film has lots of it, and it's all well shot if a bit dark at times (in particular, Lanny Barby's scene, which errs on the shadowy side). Other than that, the sex is perfect, and as I said above, with all the stars packed into this feature there's something for everyone: threesomes, twosomes, anal, facials, it's all there.
The disc is packed with features, including five(!) bonus sex scenes. Vivid really knows how to stock a DVD. There's a sizeable, fun behind the scenes, with plenty of interviews and off-camera hijinks, and it really feels like a complete featurette. There's also a neat "positions room" feature, which lets you choose your favorite position, then go right to that moment in the film.
This movie is definitely, definitely worth grabbing.
