Actiongirls Vol. 1

Director Scotty JX presents something very goofy and legitimately fresh in his Actiongirls.com series, which features hot, physically fit babes in camouflage fatigues and bikinis as they get naked, shoot guns and stalk hapless guys around hulking factories that are rusting and rotten with age.

That's it. There's no sex, and the babes don't even shoot that many people -- I only counted one fatality during their trek through the movie's post-apocalyptic landscape, which looks a lot like Gary, Ind., on a gloomy day.

But that's not the point. Like the movies of Russ Meyer, Actiongirls.com Volume 1 is all about the inversion of gender roles and the assignment of supreme ass-kicking ability to hot women -- which I'm all for.

I also imagine that these titles tap into a fetish that can only be called "watching hot women shoot guns at nothing." Case in point: Huge-breasted brunette goddess Veronica Zemanova appears in a scene wearing a camo tube-top and cargo pants. She proceeds to practice her shotgun shooting -- and slow-motion video captures every jiggle and jostle. Yes, she gets naked a few minutes later, but it's an anticlimax.

So I give this one a thumbs-up, though more extras wouldn't hurt. Neither would some sex.
