Aphrodisiac

Within minutes of his introduction, he's going at it with Daisy Mae in a real winner of a scene. The intense sex and crazy positions seen here become a mainstay for the movie.

Alas, Dakota’s moment of lust is interrupted when he is approached by our villain, Gustave, and they are soon off in search of a legendary item which may or may not be the greatest treasure of all time: the ultimate aphrodisiac. It’s not such a great thing to play with, as it turns out.

Like many adventure movies, the treasure has some hazardous side effects. Further complicating things is the fact that the aphrodisiac isn’t so much an item as it is a person in the earthly form of Aphrodite (the alluring Memphis Monroe).

As I mentioned earlier, the sex is pretty great. In addition to the scene I mentioned earlier with Daisy Mae, there’s also the siren scene with Jasmine Byrne and an Incan lesbian tryst between Eva Angelina and Naomi. They are well-shot and directed and are everything you expect from a Hustler video. Yowza.

Being the geek that I am, however, I wanted to see Dakota Smith getting a little more adventurous -- after all, this is the most expensive production Hustler has ever mounted. They have a perfectly capable action hero in Evan Stone, so why not let him use his whip to swing across a few ravines and rescue a few heroines?

So, as an Indiana Jones knockoff, the film is weak (there isn’t even a fight scene between Smith and the villains, for Pete’s sake), but as an adult movie, it succeeds.

Of particular note is the behind the scenes footage, with Stone providing his always hilarious POV. I’d love to see a film where he’s allowed to improvise all of his dialougue.
