Joone, the director of the mega-hit Pirates, shoots and lights Island Fever 4 like, in the words of a co-worker, "an oil painting brought to life."
With its lush Bora Bora and Bahamas settings and its cast of outrageously gorgeous actresses, it looks more like a Sports Illustrated model shoot gone wild than a proper adult film -- but that's a good thing. The film sets its own precedent, and it’s absolutely beautiful to watch, with some of the most sumptuous cinematography ever seen in an adult film (or any film, for that matter).
That said, at approximately four hours, the scenes do tend to blend into one another (again, this isn't a bad thing – the girls are all hot and you can almost feel the heat emitting from the screen).
But you know what's the real standout on this one? The special features. The behind-the-scenes featurette provides plenty of insight – as well as a few laughs – to the proceedings. They're almost as good as the film.
