ASACP Ramps Up to Battle Child Porn

LOS ANGELES — Adult Sites Against Child Pornography on Monday said it is ramping up its tracking system.

With new programming technology from Cydata Services, ASACP will “be more proactive in its battle against child pornography and to protect the legitimate professionals in the adult entertainment industry,” said Executive Director Joan Irvine.

Irvine also said that in August, ASACP plans to introduce new enhancements to its compliance and membership system.

“ASACP will monitor your affiliate traffic, and you will have access to the ‘How Clean Is Your Traffic’ report to verify that your affiliates are not using unacceptable terms that denote child pornography to direct traffic to your program,” she said.

For three months, ASACP asked existing sponsors and approved members to convert over to the new database by completing the form at ASACP.org.

By July 15, the member page on the ASACP site will be updated and the ASACP logo on sponsor and approved member sites will be validated against the database.

Irvine said ASACP is meeting with mainstream groups, including law enforcement, to inform them about industry efforts on the new technology and the Los Angeles-based organization’s hotline.

ASACP will be announcing further details of the expanded program prior to and at the adult webmaster trade show Internext in Hollywood, Fla., in August.

Since 1996, ASACP has been helping the adult industry fight against child porn. ASACP's efforts have to date resulted in the FBI and U.S. Customs Bureau reviewing more than 100,000 reports of suspect child pornography.
