The Path to Cam Greatness Is Paved With Dedication

The Path to Cam Greatness Is Paved With Dedication

If there is one specific attribute all of us cam models have in common, it’s that we were all newbies at one point. Every cam model had their very first broadcast filled with so many different emotions; I wouldn’t dare type them all out for you. That exact date for me, also known as my “cammiversary,” was July 7, 2012. It was the day I put on a cute Victoria’s Secret lingerie set and officially took on the alias Jenny Blighe, as I streamed for the very first time on MyFreeCams.com.

I was so nervous during my first show that I didn’t utter a single word the entire time I was online. However, I still managed to have a successful night. I also didn’t do any research prior to camming like most girls do, but I highly recommend doing so now, with the camming market being as flooded as it is today.

Remember that there are good days and bad days for all of us, even the best of the best cam girls. Enjoy the good days and ride out the bad ones. Once you have everything figured out, things will gradually fall into place.

With that being said, I’d like to share some strategies that have helped me have successful nights on cam in the beginning of my career and still today. In my first few months as an MFC model, I would focus solely on boosting my chat room viewers. I did this from the moment I started streaming in an effort to try to make my chat room the top viewed room on the site. The more premium members with tokens in your chat greatly increases your odds of receiving a tip, right? Of course, so I would always tease my audience as soon as I logged on to get my room numbers up, and then tipping would start happening naturally to get me to remove an article of clothing. I recommend wearing whatever makes you comfortable, just keep in mind that you want to bring viewers in, so try to stand out. Members also love to check out new girls on the site, so make a good impression if you’re new by being prepared.

Once you have taken that leap into the world of camming, or maybe you have been camming for a while, either way, I highly suggest you setup/maintain a twitter account to interact with your fanbase. Through this platform, you will be able to inform your fans when you will be online and inform them about other offers you may have for them. After five years of daily promotion of my brand, I now have a following of nearly 100K, and I firmly believe social media is a huge part of what will help you get people to purchase your content/store items and even new members to join your chat room.

Another tip for aspiring and even current cam models is to prepare for those slow moments that are inevitable at times on cam sites across the internet. If no one is participating and things get slow, don’t panic. Instead, keep smiling, be patient and try to have a backup plan in order to try to get tips moving. For example, you could have a 10-minute mini raffle. Members in your chat room can tip to enter knowing whether or not they are the winner in only a 10-minute span. Guys tend to love entering these raffles because honestly, they love receiving content, Snapchats, panties, you name it ... for a lower price. Who am I kidding though — don’t we all love a good deal? Most of the time, due to so many members wanting to win the prize you’re offering, you can still usually make what the prize is worth just from all of the entries.

Now, if nothing seems to be working and you’re beginning to get frustrated it always helps to step away and take a break. You can come back later and try again when you feel better.

Lastly, It’s important to note that not all cam models have instant success on their first day on the job. If this is you, don’t let it discourage you. Allow it to encourage you to explore what works for you. Study models that inspire you, motivate yourself to keep to a schedule and own that you are the boss of your chat. Remember that there are good days and bad days for all of us, even the best of the best cam girls. Enjoy the good days and ride out the bad ones. Once you have everything figured out, things will gradually fall into place.
