The Case for Facial Recognition

It’s no secret to adult marketers that developing a connection between performers and their fans is the key to profits — but if that connection already exists, then half of the battle is won — if only there was a way to discover the prospect’s ultimate fantasy girl.

Enter SexFaceFinder (www.sexfacefinder.com), a website that allows users to find their dream girl lookalike using facial recognition; easy, fast and free. Its platform offers users the ability to upload photos and receive a listing of similar models that are available for live webcam chat sessions.

Facial recognition technology will revolutionize the online adult entertainment arena, as the available performer base increases in diversity.

The site offers two easy photo uploading options, including the ability to drag and drop photos from popular social networks onto the site’s “drop zone,” as well as the more familiar “upload from your computer” method.

In either case, the company states that it never saves the pictures that users upload.

According to SexFaceFinder, it does not install adware, icons, or pop-ups; and takes great care to maintain the security of its site and the user’s information — preventing unauthorized access to it through industry standard technologies and internal procedures.

It is a great idea, but how well does it work?

For the first test, this author uploaded a clear image of adult performer Alison Angel; an attractive but generically non-descript busty blonde that should have had many similar appearing performers in the search results — but surprisingly, no matches were found.

Other test images, featuring sharp, well-lit and identifiable facial images, produced a range of better results — with some of the returned performer listings bearing an uncanny resemblance to the submitted photos — something that will no doubt please many users.

It’s important to note that SexFaceFinder seems to only pull results from ImLive.com, with the system’s efficacy relying on finding matches exclusively through that program — their adding other databases would increase the chances of finding successful matches.

Face.NaughtyAmerica.com also offers a program using facial-recognition software to match uploaded photos to similar appearing adult performers in its video database, but this system does not link to live performers and seems more oriented towards porn stars; showing users the top five matches from Naughty America’s library of 2,000 performers.

To be fair, I also uploaded the Alison Angel photo to the Naughty America site and received this: “Due to high search volume, we will send you an email quickly. Enter your email address to be notified when the results come in.”

A slick email harvesting approach but not the result I would be seeking as a customer.

It is doubtless to this author that facial recognition technology will revolutionize the online adult entertainment arena, especially its live interactive component, as its accuracy improves, and the available performer base increases in diversity; providing more choice and making connecting with a reasonable facsimile of your dream girl, just a click away.

Growing Site Revenue Under Ever-Changing Compliance Rules

Over the past year, many merchants have reported earnings that were flat or even a bit down. This is due to three main factors: age verification regulations, click-to-cancel rules, and banks backing away from cross-sales due to regulatory requirements and the rollout of the Visa Acquiring Monitoring Program (VAMP).
