The goal of the forum is to provide one-stop support for adult webmasters, with real information that's relevant to today's high-traffic sites and the hardware and software behind them.
"We are aiming to become the top site on the web for technical information and support, specifically for the adult webmaster," forum administrator Fuckin Bill said.
"There are many sites offering tutorials, documentation and information about internet servers, Apache, mySQL, Linux and all the more technical stuff that keeps your website available to the world," Bill said. "The problem with almost all of them, though, is that even if you can follow them, the information they give you usually doesn't apply, or can't be applied, to the special needs of a high-traffic adult web site."
Bill has been operating adult web sites for more than 10 years, during which time he has learned more about linux, apache, mysql and server security now than he ever thought he would need to know.
"I just wanted to make websites, and thought all I needed to know was HTML," he said. As he continued building more and new types of sites, however, he discovered that he would need to learn a lot of new things he had never previously thought about, whether he wanted to or not.
"It's inevitable that if you want to run web sites to make your living, you will have to learn about your server and all the software running on it," he said. "Owning a web site and not knowing how the machine behind it works is like owning a store and not knowing how to turn the lights on in the morning. One day something will go wrong, and you won't like being in the dark.
"I also believe that the more educated my fellow webmasters are about the machines and software that run their lives, the better life will be for all of us. I have a lot less trouble with my own sites if my traffic and link partners know how to protect their sites, too. For some reason though, I don't know any really good resources for this kind of information.
"A site like this could make a tremendous difference in the way a lot of webmasters approach their businesses, and in the end we will all benefit from the shared knowledge," Bill said.
