110 Media Launches Web1000Traffic.com

MELVILLE, N.Y. — 110 Media Group Inc. on Tuesday announced the beta launch of Web1000Traffic.com, a site dedicated to reselling advertising space the company obtained through a recent acquisition of free web hosting company Web1000.com.

"We have been inundated with requests to purchase traffic since we took over Web1000.com,” said Mike Barton, who leads the company's sales effort under the Mobbucks handle "Mike Vega."

Barton said that Web1000traffic.com formalizes the marketing model for reselling advertising space across the Web1000 platform.

“Web1000traffic.com will help to create a structured sales effort for us to effectively market the underutilized and undersold inventory," said Barton, who noted that the company has already begun to capitalize upon the plethora of marketable advertising space.

The company, citing figures from Alexa.com, said Web1000 hosted sites have a three month average reach of more than 883 million Internet users.

Barton said that Web1000 generates large volumes of redirected traffic — including a large number of 404s (error messages) — that 110 Media will be able to direct to various web-based properties that it owns or has agreements with.

Late last year, Barton said that the volume of traffic with the addition of Web1000 was “going to create a heavy revenue stream."

Melville, N.Y.-based 110 Media purchased Web1000 from Global Reach Inc. in early December.

Publicly held 110 Media, formerly known as Dominix Inc., also owns Jade Entertainment Group Inc., which hosts AskJade.com, a specialty search engine for the adult entertainment industry. It also offers content, including Brazilian-based video content and DVDs.

Jade Entertainment also produces Redfire Video DVDs, available at RedFireVideo.com.

In July, 110 Media announced it would handle online efforts for Toronto-based NWWL Productions Inc.’s Carmen Electra's Naked Women's Wrestling League venture, which launched in September.

In August, 110 Media acquired adult content distributor CD-Media.net to bolster claims that it was one of the largest discount content suppliers on the Internet. CD-Media.net has been operating since 1999 and owns more than 14,000 images and hundreds of video clips that it licenses to thousands of online adult websites.

Last week the company formally launched Mobbucks.com and said it signed more than 125 affiliate webmasters to the program on the first day of its launch.
