FSC, FSC Europe to Host Panel on European Issues, Advocacy at XBIZ Berlin

BERLIN — Free Speech Coalition (FSC) and FSC Europe will partner for a first-of-its-kind panel on issues facing European producers and content creators at XBIZ Berlin.

The first joint live panel between the two organizations will highlight issues ranging from production standards to regulatory threats in a rapidly changing European marketplace.

“The challenges we face are real, but a unified European network has the power to make a real difference,” said FSC Executive Director Alison Boden. “In the U.S., we have a long history of defeating bad laws and guiding beneficial self-regulation. While Europe has its own unique challenges, we recognize that we all benefit from working together and learning from one another’s efforts.”

Last year, FSC partnered with Paulita Pappel to launch FSC Europe to help give European creators, performers, distributors, producers and companies a voice in their legislative and regulatory affairs, and to help set more unified standards for production, safety and copyright. FSC Europe has begun speaking out in the press about new AVS regulations in Germany and France, and the Online Safety Bill in the U.K.

Pappel explained that in the past two years, the adult business “has shifted radically.”

In a creator-led industry, she added, “we have the chance to rethink how the entire business operates, and what advocacy looks like. As both a producer and a creator, I look forward to coming together with my European colleagues to chart a path forward.”

XBIZ Berlin is slated for Aug. 18-21 at the Catalonia Berlin Mitte Hotel. The annual conference will culminate with the XBIZ Europa Awards, the adult industry’s biggest night in Europe, on Saturday, Aug. 20.

Free registration is available for models/creators, affiliates and producers, while XBIZ.net members qualify for discounted admission.
