Orion Shares Holiday Sex Toy Survey Results

FLENSBURG, Germany — Orion has released the findings of its YouGov survey that sheds light on some surprising stats about the holidays and sex toys.

According to the survey, of the 2,031 participants, 33 percent had given an erotic gift at least once. Lingerie was the clear leader, accounting for 15 percent of answers, followed by 9 percent that had gifted an actual toy.

The survey also revealed that significantly more men had given erotic gifts than women around the holidays. "A bit of a surprise," noted an Orion rep, "was that in households with children, erotic gifts such as lingerie, sex toys and gift certificates for erotic shops are a more common gift than in households where there are no kids."

A different survey further reported that 84 percent of women and 85 percent of men said that they would be happy to receive a sex toy as a gift, although men generally tend to buy toys that are too big for their partner and women often are searching for something compact enough to fit in their handbags on-the-go.

The last survey which asked participants about their feelings towards lingerie, revealed the category to be popular, with 70 percent of women reporting that they like to wear sexy lingerie because it makes them feel "sensual and erotic." Thirty-one percent said that wearing lingerie gives them more confidence, while 90 percent of the men said that it is "important or very important that their partner wears sexy lingerie."

Black was shown to be the favorite color for lingerie, with red coming as a close second. While men aren't too particular about the color of their partner's lingerie, Orion's survey suggested that up to 64 percent of the men surveyed would like to see some lingerie for the partner under the tree this year.
