FDA Blacklists 3 More Penis Pills

WASHINGTON — The Food and Drug Administration yesterday issued more warnings over penis pills marketed as organic but that include ingredients used in prescription drugs Viagra and Cialis.

In the past seven weeks, regulators have blacklisted 11 penis pills, including the latest three — Lightning ROD, Bullet Proof and Vicerex.

The FDA warned about Lightning ROD, which was found to contain sildenafil, the active ingredient in Viagra. The government also warned about Bullet Proof and Vicerex, which were both to have found to have various amounts of tadalafil, the active ingredient used in Cialis.

The penis pills, marketed as 100 percent herbal, are sold online and at retail shops.

Other penis pills blacklisted in the past seven weeks include Zoom-Zooma-Zoom, Sex Plus, Love Rider, Ninja Mojo, AFFIRM XL, Stiff Days, Rock-It Man and Libido Sexual Enhancer.

"Consumers should stop using this product immediately and throw it away; consumers who have experienced any negative side effects should consult a health care professional as soon as possible," the FDA says.

"Sildenafil and tadalafil may interact with nitrates found in some prescription drugs such as nitroglycerin and may lower blood pressure to dangerous levels. Men with diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol or heart disease often take nitrates."
