Snatchly.com Provides Porn 'Social Pin-Board'

LOS ANGELES — A new website promises increased traffic for adult operators as it simultaneously poses potential new challenges for copyright holders.

Social bookmarking fans have embraced mainstream sites such as Pinterest.com as a way to see and vote on selected content, for an easy to use “best of the web” collection, where crowd sourcing, peer review and custom content channels come together.

These sites, akin to a “pin-board,” typically display a thumbnail image and other data, much like an enhanced adult TGP/MGP or tube site would, with user-submitted links to external content.

Enter Snatchly (www.snatchly.com), the latest free adult social pin-boarding site.

Calling itself “your online pornboard,” Snatchly allows users to “snatch and share porn you love from anywhere on the web” — displaying it for viewers to comment on, to “resnatch” it and to share it with others, via a thumbnail and link.

“Snatchly lets you save and share all the porn you love from anywhere on the web, including major porn sites like: RedTube, PornHub, YouJizz, YouPorn, xHamster, Tube8, Xtube, VidZ, and beeg,” the service’s website states — while reminding users that they must not “Post, upload, publish, submit, provide access to or transmit any Content that: (i) infringes, misappropriates or violates a third party’s patent, copyright, trademark, trade secret, moral rights or other intellectual property rights, or rights of publicity or privacy;” among other restrictions — providing copyright owners with a brief overview of its DMCA process for content removal.

Photos and video clips covering every imaginable genre are displayed, with niche communities developing around very specific categories.

“Create boards dedicated to your favorite porn stars and scenes, like Sasha Grey in Grand Theft Anal 11 or Sash Grey in Barely Legal 62,” the site continues, telling users, “You get the point...”

That could be a somewhat brazen suggestion for a website that admonishes its users (in much smaller print) to only post content that they have the copyright authorization to.

The site suggests uses such as browsing pornboards created by others to discover new pornstars and archiving your favorite content so that you will “never lose a video again.”

“Spend hours in search of that perfect money shot only to forget where you found it days later?” the site asks, promoting its use as a pseudo cloud storage service, noting that it can “snatch and save all of your treasured finds with just one click.”

This click can come from a browser toolbar, social media buttons or on-page banners, allowing marketers to make their chosen content easily accessible to the service, while the Firefox “Snatch It” button enables “fans” to easily add any content to their personal pornboard, which other users can follow, not unlike a user’s Facebook home page.

“Find someone whose snatches you admire,” the Snatchly site states, encouraging its visitors to follow that user or their individual boards; a process made easy by including their picks on the visitors’ custom homepage. Private boards are also available for those who want to secure their choices.

This really opens the door for online marketers seeking to promote their own content, or that of their sponsor, where allowed; and these efforts can be integrated into existing websites and marketing chains via available social tools, making this a new traffic source.

Not the first adult knock-off of Pinterest, Snatchly joins Pornterest.net in the social pin-board field — an arena that is almost certain to see continued growth. One final aside as to the audience for these sites: AppData reportedly found that 97 percent of Pinterest Facebook fans are women…
