April Fool’s From Booble

NEW YORK — Time Warner has announced plans to spinoff its AOL subsidiary to Booble.com. Not exactly. But that’s this years April Fool’s day installment from Booble.

According to a company press release, April 1st is the company’s major annual holiday.

“It’s sort of like Christmas, only with boobs and humor,” Bob Smart, founder of Booble, said.

According to Smart, AOL was ripe for parody.

“Since AOL is founded on dirty chat rooms and the search for and trading of pornographic images, it’s only appropriate that it is now firmly in the cleavage of the boobs,” Smart said.

Booble, a search engine geared to find porn, is a parody of Google. Last year’s parody had the site mocking the religious right by changing its name to Biible.

The original Booble concept was pure parody. However, a legal battle with Google forced the site to settle and changes directions. The site now goes to great lengths to distinguish itself from Google, which greeted Booble’s launch with claims of trademark infringement.

The prank will run from March 31st to April 3rd. Booble plans to feature a prominent link on its page to the prank for the duration of April.
