Welcome to Grind Bar

Callie (Lena Paul), Heidi (Abigail Mac) and Monique (Alexander) are all bartenders at Grind Bar, a trashy, rough-and-tumble watering hole frequented by bikers. The women use their feminine wiles to lure big tips out of the patrons and every night ends up as a sexy booze fest. What kind of trouble can these luscious ladies get into? Pull up a barstool and find out!

Came-Sue Van Ark pens a really fun script and director Brett Brando brings it to life perfectly in this gem from Digital Playground. The entire movie exudes a realism that captures the audience immediately (the overhead shots in the opening sequence are fantastic) and makes us feel right at home. The setting of this movie could be every bar any of us has ever frequented, and there is a real comfort in that feeling. Brando captures the vibe perfectly with the soundtrack, the use of slow motion, and the emphasis on close ups of the patrons and the stars of the film. Lena Paul really does some nice character work here as does Monique Alexander and they are able to effectively keep the mood going strong throughout the movie. This is some very fun stuff to put it plainly.

I really liked the dynamic between all three ladies in this film. It reminded me a little bit of the show “Charmed” with Callie being the hot-headed sex bomb, Heidi being the practical friend who is frustrated by the lack of dedication to work from her cohorts and Monique being the calming force that keeps the two powder kegs from exploding all the time. It’s an age-old trope, but it’s still fun and well executed here. All three ladies look great, but I have to give special mention to Lena Paul and those awesome daisy duke jean shorts! Holy cow what a great body she’s got! Xander Corvus plays the naive, inexperienced college boy Sam who, like the audience, gets swept up in Callie’s storm of sexual magnetism and it creates a fun love triangle between the two of them and Callie’s boyfriend Ryder (Charles Dera) who himself isn’t quite on the up and up, while Monique and her beau James (Scott Nails) kind of watch the drama unfold from the sidelines as they deal with their own tension.

After a really fun bar sequence that involves some bona-fide bar dancing and a stereotypical bar fight, Callie and Sam escape to a stairwell for some fuck-tastic fun. I must commend Brando for choosing this location, as it’s been a very long time since I’ve seen a stairwell scene. The taboo factor is enhanced instantly due to the location, and choices like that are what take sex scenes in features to the next level. There are some very nice angles in this scene (although none of them last very long) and everything just works here. Really enjoyed the backside standing doggie because of the way it showed off Lena’s ass and the standing missionary was equally great for the same reason. A subtle creampie finishes the action.

Monique gets a nice grudge-type stuffing from her cocky boyfriend James after he breaks up a fight, and the entire scene drips with attitude. James comes off as entitled and obnoxiously confident, and Monique succumbs to his brash demeanor without much resistance. The result is a pseudo dominant scene where James gets exactly what he wants, but Monique gets off on the entire thing as well so everyone ends up happy. Stick with this scene until the doggie over the chair because Monique puts on a clinic during that sequence. My word, does she look wonderful curled up in that chair rocking her hips back onto Scott’s dick! This position lasted quite a while and I was very happy it did. Also love how often the camera and positioning allowed the audience to see Monique’s tattoos. Her sleeves are one of her defining features and I loved that they were given time to shine without being fetishized.

An intense argument about cleaning up the bar after all the commotion leads to a raunchy lesbian three-way between Monique, Callie and Heidi and the audience finally gets the chance to see Abigail Mac in action. There’s a great take on piledriver in this scene that is absolutely worth the watch as well as some very sexy face-sitting which is one of my favorite positions. When you get to the end, take a minute to just appreciate how delectable Monique looks with her legs draped across the bodies of her friends, thighs spread just enough to make her look vulnerable and satisfied. That was such a great capture.

The film closes with a narrative reveal that explains a lot of the interactions between Callie and Heidi over the course of the movie, as Ryder pounds Heidi inside the bar to a soundtrack of Heidi’s filthy dirty talk. The mood of this scene is created by Heidi’s nasty mouth (at one point she literally begs Ryder to ruin her!) and Abigail Mac gets into the scene in a big way. She just about destroys Dera during doggie as she grinds her pussy on his dick and she loses that intensity no matter the sex position. She’s wanton and nasty and hungry and Dera feeds her mercilessly. There are a lot of folks who are going to absolutely love this scene.

I gotta say, this was a very fun flick. It felt very genuine and it created a mood that I wanted to participate in. The story was engaging enough to keep me invested and the ladies all looked amazing. Lena Paul is the sexual highlight of the movie, but the strength of the film lies with the way Paul, Alexander and Mac were able to create a believable friendship dynamic between themselves. That’s what’s going to keep the audience from fast-forwarding to the sex. A nice job by everyone involved.

Synopsis:

Grind Bar is the type of establishment mothers warn their sons about. Despite its location off the beaten path, the dive bar has been drawing in young men from nearby towns for years. Their success stems from the hot young bartenders on staff. Grind Bar developed a reputation for hiring "wild mustangs": women with personalities and looks that cannot be tamed. Run by the local biker gang, the bars owners have been known to clash with its innocent young patrons. Named for the sexy grind dance the bartenders perform nightly on top of the bar, Grind Bar is a hot bed of lust with an element of danger that's as intoxicating as the drinks in the glasses.
