Ohdoki Sets Sights on International Growth With 'The Handy'

Some brands rush to cover every facet of the pleasure products market. Others aim to do one thing — and do it exceptionally well.

Meet The Handy, a deceptively simple-looking stroker created in Norway by the Oslo-based company Ohdoki AS. Designed by Ohdoki co-founder and CTO Alexander Bjørkmann, The Handy can be synced up to a smartphone, connected to thousands of adult videos across countless platforms, and accommodate enough unique masturbation sleeves to fill a bedside drawer.

Bjørkmann’s co-founder, CEO Jens Petter Wilhelmsen, is a strong believer in the company’s mission: to break taboos and promote open, inclusive conversations about the intersection of intimacy and technology.

Wilhelmsen highlights a longstanding discrepancy in the market.

“For decades, female sexuality and sex toys for women have been openly discussed and widely accepted, especially since the 1990s,” Wilhelmsen notes. “But for men, it’s still surrounded by taboo and discomfort.”

While The Handy breaks stigma barriers for men, it also advances adult product technology. With features like VR connectivity and a large library of adult content to sync with, the stroker promises a “see what you feel, feel what you see” experience.

A Velcro strap secures The Handy’s stroker sleeve to its mechanized stroking arm. Customers can choose from 19 different sleeves, all made of either silicone or TPE, with a variety of textures, tightness levels and sizes.

Other brands, Wilhelmsen observes, often focus on cutting corners and lowering prices.

“We took the opposite route,” he says. “We invested in long-term R&D, high-end components and real user feedback. That’s why The Handy product lineup is a leap forward.”

For either solo or partner play, The Handy connects to an anonymous smart phone app, allowing the user or a participating partner to take control of the stroker from anywhere in the world. A completely private format that doesn’t require sharing data or signing up for an account provides peace of mind.

The Handy can also be customized by developers, offering an open API that allows users to create their own unique stroking formats.

“Customer feedback influences every major decision we make,” Wilhelmsen affirms. “As the user base for The Handy grew, so did our direct connection with our community. We listened, tested, iterated and repeated. From Reddit threads to Discord discussions, support tickets and hands-on beta testing, we ensured that real user insights drove real product improvements.”

The original Handy was followed by an upgraded version with a more powerful motor, turbo mode, a more realistic stroking action and a longer-lasting battery, along with other advanced features.

“The Handy 2 is the new kid on the block, and everyone in our community is eager to get their hands on it,” gushes Wilhelmsen. “We introduced it in early 2025 through Kickstarter, and we achieved outstanding results: $1,500,000 in less than 60 days. The early-bird backers have already received their devices, and we’re over the moon with their feedback.”

The Handy 2 can be adapted to fit a customer’s existing stroker sleeves using the device’s new combination of Velcro strap and magnet-based sleeve security.

Despite margins taking a hit due to tariffs, the company says they’ve managed to keep strong relationships with B2B partners by focusing on transparency and joint problem-solving.

“The U.S. remains a very important market for Ohdoki,” attests Wilhelmsen. “We intend to keep strengthening our position there by expanding both our B2C and B2B teams, and making sure that Americans have access to our latest advancements.”

Being from Norway has definitely influenced the values and perspective of the company and its founders, Wilhelmsen emphasizes.

“Norwegian culture generally has a liberal and open-minded approach to sexuality, one that focuses on individual empowerment and the freedom to enjoy life without judgment,” he reflects. “That view is deeply part of who we are as a company. Through our products, we aim to share that same mindset with the world: that pleasure is natural, personal and something to be celebrated rather than hidden.”

This year, as The Handy 2 launches fully, industry partners can anticipate extensive customer support and brand promotion as Ohdoki celebrates its “next big thing” in the company’s expanding product lineup.

According to the Ohdoki team, there’s also plenty more to come.

“We have an exciting product development pipeline for 2026 and beyond, which will continuously challenge outdated norms and bridge the gap between fantasy and reality, completely reshaping the limits of the sex toy industry,” promises Wilhelmsen.

“We’ve seen a real shift in recent years toward mainstream acceptance of male pleasure products,” he adds. “People are increasingly curious, willing to explore and open to innovation. Our mission builds on that momentum: to help normalize sex toys for men globally, and make the conversation around male pleasure just as natural as it already is for women.”
