Porn Finds Its Way Onto New Xbox One Gaming System

CYBERSPACE — After only a week on the market and in time for the Christmas rush, porn has found its way onto the new Xbox One next-gen gaming console.

SugarDVD has reportedly announced an app that lets adult content be accessed by using the console’s Internet Explorer browser and signing up for a monthly subscription.

Users need to log in through the browser “to prevent unauthorized access due to privacy and app marketplace restrictions,” then can choose their porn though a menu that according to the company uses “the same content distribution network as streaming giants Netflix and Hulu.”

To navigate, users use Kinect gesture controls that are similar to those on the Xbox One dashboard. The app also works with Xbox One's snap feature allowing for multitasking.

Although SugaDVD has created apps for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and Xbox 360, it’s banking on the Xbox. “The PS4 is great, but if we’re purely talking adult content … the Xbox One is superior,” Rebecca Bolen, a rep for SugarDVD told Digital Trends.

“Simply put, the Xbox One is a gateway for porn of the future,” CEO Jax Smith added. “The PS4 is pretty, but Xbox One allows for more seamless integration and a more interactive experience.”

Last September, SugarDVD developed a porn app for SteamOS, the new Linux-based operating system designed for gaming on big screens.
