Shortly after the season-four cast of “JDMA” was publicly revealed, cast member and rising model Martin Ritchie was identified by eagle-eyed Internet fans at QueerClick.com as ex-porn performer “Pauly” from CruiserBoys.com.
DudeTube.com fans subsequently recognized Ritchie had appeared as “York” for Boyride Films in a solo video and duo vignette with Dempsey Stearns.
“Frankly, we’d be disappointed of Janice hadn’t included someone we’ve seen jerking off before among her latest brood,” adult blog Fleshbot.com said.
The previous season of “JDMA” featured a model named Rodrigo de Carli, whose sultry, pouty-lipped good looks were well-known to fans of his gay porn work as Rascal Video exclusive “Claudio Martin.”
De Carli is not part of the new “JDMA” season and has since returned to erotica in several recent Lucas Entertainment films.
Erotic work on one’s resume would appear to be a current prerequisite for reality-television stardom.
The most recent example is Mikey Verdugo, a contestant on HGTV’s “Design Star.” During his “Design Star” run, porn fans uncovered an erotic bondage film he allegedly shot in 1996 — long before the permeation of the Internet into every aspect of modern life — called “Rope Rituals” for Tom “Ropes” McGurk.
When news of his supposed erotic past surfaced, Verdugo was suspended with pay from his day job as a police officer with the city of Hollywood, Fla. After an investigation by the police department’s Internal Affairs division, a resolution is pending.
“Crazy” James Zinkland shot solo work for SpyonDudes.com and was a cast member of “Dirty Tricks,” the online erotic soap opera produced by Dirty Boy Video and NakedSword.com.
That series was filmed several months before he joined the cast of CBS reality series “Big Brother 9” earlier this year. When the show ended, Zinkland joked about his porn work with reporters.
Other recent reality television stars include: Alex “Militia” Castro, musclebound “American Gladiator” on NBC, who has posed nude for COLT Studio using the nom de porn “Elian Cortez.”
Dancer and castmate on the Bravo reality-competition series “Step It Up and Dance” Michael Silas was revealed to have worked as an erotic model for LatinBoyz.com.
And Oscar “Ozzy” Lusth, a fan favorite on two seasons of CBS hit “Survivor,” had practice appearing on camera, several years before “Survivor” fame, as a cast member of Playboy TV’s erotic reality series “Foursome.”
On a side note; there have been only several known gay porn performers who are also deaf: J.D. DeMarco, who made a handful of films in 1996 and ’97 and current performer Zack Randall.
