GadgetSpots.net Offers Online Ad Networking

LOS ANGELES — Collaborative online ad networking company GadgetSpots.net is now offering a free, membership-based ad network that shares ad displays amongst members of varying levels.

GadgetSpots.net distributes advertising "gadget spots" using "gadgets" that are installed on its network of member's websites.

The GadgetSpots.net launch represents the first stage of a planned GadgetSpots Network, the basic version of which is free for publishers to join and participate in, although adult content seems to be barred from the service's initial offerings.

The network displays categorized ads on member websites, similar in some respects to the banner exchange programs familiar to adult webmasters. Unlike other ad networks, GadgetSpots.net members do not bid for position or gain bonus ad displays based on the amount of ad displays their own websites generate.

Ad displays are distributed to members relative to the membership they hold. Free members share 25 percent of network ad displays while subscribed members share 75 percent of the network's ad displays.

According to the company, one major benefit for GadgetSpots.net members is the two-tier affiliate program structure built into the system, where referring members can earn monthly recurring commissions for the subscribed memberships referred from the links displayed in their "gadgets."

"The affiliate referral structure is an innovative addition for members," Bill Burdin, CEO of GadgetSpots.net parent company Websitings, said. "To the best of my knowledge, there is no other ad network that offers any such a feature to its publishers."

GadgetSpots are now actively displaying "gadgets" on online communities, blogs and websites, and are expected to quickly reach one million daily ad displays for members.

"On current results, an average of more than one million daily 'gadget spot' impressions will be reached within days," Burdin said. "Ten million ad displays daily is anticipated within the first month."
