U.K. Company Offers 1-Year Streaming Video Rentals

LONDON — Adult video-on-demand provider Strictly Broadband now is offering streaming movie rentals for a one-year rental period from its two websites, StrictlyBroadband.com and StrictlyGayMovies.com.

This is an upgrade from the original rental service, which offered three-day rentals before extending the rental period to seven days. The options now available are seven-day rental and one-year rental, both allowing unlimited viewing of the rented movie for the entire period. Rentals are paid by "tickets," which cost $10-16 each, depending on the quantity purchased. One-year rentals cost two tickets.

Strictly Broadband is promoting the one-year rentals as an opportunity for users to build an anonymous online collection without downloading videos onto hard-drive space or storing physical DVDs.

Strictly Broadband also operates an affiliate program for webmasters and offers studios a minimum payment of $5 per one-year rental. Strictly Broadband recently signed a deal with Smash Pictures to offer Smash productions for VOD rentals.
