Alina Lopez on Finding the Blueprint for XMA Gold

Alina Lopez on Finding the Blueprint for XMA Gold

“This year, I’ve already traveled out of the country, gone to two major award shows and bought a new house,” Alina Lopez tells XBIZ, offering a sigh of exhaustion. “And February’s not even over.”

Next up? Heading to Norway to swim with the orcas. The two-time XMAs award winner envisions the solo trip — her first time traveling alone — as an opportunity to step into her feminine power.

“Orcas are very matriarchal and female-led mammals,” Lopez explains. “They’re also the apex predators of the ocean. So it’s like this girl-boss gang of orcas, and I’m like, ‘I’ve got to go swim with these bitches!’

“I’m looking forward to that,” Lopez adds with a laugh.

The plan speaks to her taste for adventure. Lopez recently released a video in which she’s having sex deep underwater. She had to get scuba-certified for the shoot. She also shot a rappelling scene, in which she has sex while dangling 200 feet in the air in a harness.

Could skydiving be the next adrenaline-fueled, death-defying feat on Lopez’s list? That depends, she says, on what her fans want to see next.

“As far as adventure content goes, I’ll do anything for my fans,” Lopez declares. “I love an excuse to go on vacation and have some crazy adventures. Adding sex to the mix just makes it even better.”

Coming Full Circle

Lopez is currently celebrating her 10th year in the industry. She shot her very first scene nearly a decade ago, with Jason Luv for Blacked Raw. Last year, she reunited with Luv for the Blacked feature “The Blueprint.” Their scene together won in the category of Best Sex Scene in a drama at the 2026 XMAs.

Lopez is no stranger to award shows, having racked up numerous nominations over the years. That particular night, however, turned out to be especially hectic for her.

“I didn’t even hear them announce that award,” she recalls. “I had just gone onstage with the rest of the ‘Blueprint’ crew to accept the award for Best Drama Movie, and then we all went backstage to take photos together. All of a sudden, I heard my name again and ran back out.”

When Lopez reemerged onstage, she experienced a brief, endearing moment of confusion under the bright lights, as she excitedly asked presenter Vanna Bardot which award she’d won.

“It just caught me by surprise,” Lopez laughs.

With no time to mentally prepare, she kept her acceptance remarks brief. Her only regret now is that Luv was unable to be up there with her, especially since the pair had not shot together since that very first time at the outset of her career.

“To be reunited all these years later and win an award for it was so incredible,” she marvels. “It was already cool that ‘The Blueprint’ was such a big project, but to have it also be recognized in that way shows that when you put Jason and me together, we make a good team.”

Lopez credits Luv for the ease of that collaboration, describing a natural dynamic that ignited before the cameras even started rolling.

“All the girls in porn know this, but if you’re working with a guy, it helps to stroke their ego a little bit and flirt with them, because when it comes time for the scene, it’s going to go better if the guy’s feeling good about himself,” Lopez confides. “With Jason, I didn’t have to do that, because he’s already confident and knows he’s going to bring his unique energy to the scene. With Jason, I can just be myself. Our chemistry is really natural.”

Lopez doesn’t expect to wait another decade to work with Luv again.

“It’s so effortless when we’re together on set,” she says. “I think we’ll definitely make it happen again sooner rather than later.”

Talent Beyond the Bedroom

Lopez won her first XMAs trophy in 2020, in the category of Best Actress in a taboo-themed release, for playing a churchgoing “good girl” who needs to be relieved of her guilt, in the Pure Taboo release “Bishop’s Interview.”

This year, she was nominated in the Best Supporting Actor category for her work in “The Blueprint.” Although she didn’t land that one, Lopez says it was gratifying to receive another nod for her acting ability, not just her sexual performance.

“There aren’t a lot of companies that still put a big focus on movies with storylines and acting,” she notes. “So it definitely feels good to be recognized for the hard work I put into other areas of my career.”

Lopez found her character in “The Blueprint” relatively easy to play because the character’s attitude, confidence and directness stem from who she really is. That being said, she is also proud of her range.

“I can relate to a lot of different kinds of characters,” she affirms. “So it’s easy for me to take lines and kind of make them my own.”

This is perhaps not surprising for someone who has been a performer most of her life. Bitten by the acting bug early, Lopez starred in church and high school plays before moving up to local theater productions and a few commercials.

“I used to compete in the Shakespeare festival,” she remembers. “Since I was a gymnast, I often played roles that showed off that part of me. I played an acrobat in ‘Hamlet,’ and even though I didn’t have any big speaking lines, I was doing back handsprings and splits and stuff in the background. It always made our group look cooler.”

That early blend of performance and physicality still shapes her approach today, alongside inspiration drawn from Oscar winners Angelina Jolie and Julia Roberts, whom she cites among her favorite mainstream actresses.

On the set of “The Blueprint,” those elements translated naturally, reinforced by the environment director Derek Dozer and the Blacked team cultivated.

“They took very good care of us on set,” gushes Lopez. “We had incredible catered food every day, which I love and hate as a performer because I’m in this tiny lingerie set and I’m like, ‘Stop putting all this good food out!’ We also shot in the most beautiful location.

I remember sitting outside with the crew, and it just felt like we were hanging out as friends.

“They did a really good job of making those long work days feel very comfortable, even luxurious,” she adds. “The whole thing was just a great experience from start to finish.”

Looking Back, Looking Ahead

As she has done throughout her career, Lopez divides her time between Utah and Los Angeles. When she travels — she prefers driving over flying — she likes to bring her cats, Princess Diana and Cleopatra, along with her.

“They’re living the porn-star-on-tour life,” Lopez says.

She enjoys the silence of the open road, and welcomes those rare quiet times, especially given her fast-paced, often chaotic lifestyle. She says she used to spend long drives listening to the “Mormon Stories” podcast, on which people share their experiences of leaving the Mormon church, just as she did.

Now a decade into her career, Lopez expresses few regrets about her choices — though she does reflect that she could have been better prepared to deal with how competitive the industry can be, and the occasional jealousy and resentment that success can breed.

“Especially in the beginning, when you’re new and you start doing well, you have to be careful,” Lopez advises. “It was a disappointing part of joining porn that I would like to see change. Girls need to support girls more.”

Such experiences have deepened Lopez’s appreciation for her go-to industry friends, and she remains grateful for their guidance and mentorship.

“I just shot with Riley Reid, and we had a whole conversation about an exciting new project I’m working on that features a big first for me,” Lopez reveals. “She’s definitely someone I’ve gone to for advice and words of encouragement. She’s also very business-minded, so she’s given me a lot of good tips on that front.”

In addition to the project with Reid, Lopez is also excited about working on a mainstream project — though she can’t discuss it yet, due to a nondisclosure agreement.

“I love doing porn, but it’s cool to step outside of the adult business every once in a while,” Lopez says. “These days, the mainstream is more open to working with girls in our industry, and more accepting of us, which is really exciting.”

No longer a starry-eyed newcomer, Lopez has also seen power dynamics flip and the definition of stardom rewrite itself. In the process, she says, she has come to love the creativity that permeates the business today.

“When I got into porn, I didn’t think I would ever be an influencer or content creator,” she admits. “I just wanted to have sex on camera. The industry has evolved so much in the last 10 years.”
