VerifyMy, ID X Lab Partner for 'Double-Blind' AV Solution

LONDON — Safety technology provider VerifyMy and digital trust outfit ID x Lab have partnered for a "double-blind" age verification solution called AnonymAGE.

The technology features a one-stop solution to comply with new adult website regulations in France.

“By Friday, April 11, all websites that display pornographic content in France, wherever in the world they are hosted, must offer visitors several ways to prove their age, including at least one ‘double-blind’ technology,” said a rep. “Those failing to do so risk being blocked or de-listed by the regulator Arcom.”

“The double-blind approach anonymizes all user identity and browsing data, ensuring porn websites do not know the identity of the person being age-checked, while the age assurance partner does not have visibility of which platform the verification is for,” the rep added.

ID x Lab Founding Chairman Jacky Lamraoui enthused about the collaboration.

“This partnership is in line with our commitment to excellence and our ambition to become a long-term player in the French and international age verification market,” Lamraoui said. “Our partnership will enable us to offer a standard that can be easily deployed in other areas and activities reserved for adults.”

Added VerifyMy COO Andy Lulham, “Whilst none of our existing methods involve a user’s personal data being shared with an adult entertainment platform, Arcom’s decision to require all adult websites to implement at least one double-blind means that adults will now also have the option to prove their age without handing over any identifying data to the age verification provider either. We’ve long respected the work of ID x Lab, and this move is a natural next step in our commitment to help websites and tech companies create safer experiences for all.”
