Suspect Charged in Death of TheGuySite.com Owner William Futral

TAMPA, Fla. — Tampa police have arrested a 28-year-old man and charged him with the murder of William Futral, owner of gay paysite TheGuySite.com.

News of the May 15 arrest was announced last week by Tampa PD, and was first flagged by Str8UpGayPorn.

The accused was identified by police as Richard Lam. Sources familiar with TheGuySite.com have confirmed to XBIZ that Lam performed as talent for the site.

Lam is also charged with stealing Futral’s car.

As XBIZ reported, Futral’s body was found May 1 at the Beck Apartments in Tampa by a maintenance worker. An autopsy revealed that he died as a result of upper body trauma.

Tampa PD called the killing “a targeted attack” and investigated it as a homicide.

According to the arrest statement, surveillance footage collected during the investigation “showed Lam near the residence at the time of the murder. Fingerprints found at the scene were identified as belonging to Lam. The investigation also proved that Lam and the victim were known to each other.”

On May 2, the victim’s vehicle was located in West Palm Beach County, allowing the Tampa Police Department Fugitive Apprehension Unit (FAU) to determine Lam’s location.

FAU officers, working with the U.S. Marshals Service, arrested Lam last Monday and charged him with murder and grand theft motor vehicle.

Lam is currently being held at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center in Dade County.
