'Cam_Girlfriend' Earns Best Comedy Nom at Seoul Webfest

LOS ANGELES — “Cam_Girlfriend,” a comic web series that follows the misadventures of a Chaturbate broadcaster portrayed by Lily LaBeau, recently earned a Best Comedy nomination from the eighth annual Seoul Webfest, running Aug. 18-21 at the Lotte City Hotel in Seoul, South Korea.

The Seoul Webfest was founded in 2015 and is the first web series festival in Korea and Northeast Asia, noted a rep.

“It is an honor to be nominated for Best Comedy at this year’s Seoul Webfest,” said a rep for the “Cam_Girlfriend” team. “It's amazing that so many new audiences from around the world have responded so well to the series. Camming and comedy are truly universal.”

In May, “Cam_Girlfriend" was named an official selection of Miami Web Fest, running Sept. 29 through Oct 2, and director-producer Daniel AM Rosenberg earned Best Directing — Comedy honors from the 12th annual Indie Series Awards in Los Angeles.

“It’s so rewarding to see ‘Cam_Girlfriend’ get the recognition it deserves,” said Chaturbate COO Shirley Lara. “We knew it was a great series to be involved with, and it’s nice to see so many people and film organizations around the world agree.”
