'Cam_Girlfriend' Named Official Selection of Miami Web Fest

LOS ANGELES — “Cam_Girlfriend,” a comic web series that follows the misadventures of a Chaturbate broadcaster, portrayed by Lily LaBeau, has been named an official selection of Miami Web Fest, running Sept. 29 through Oct 2.

“Cam_Girlfriend” was created by Ethan Cole, written by Cole and Michael Goldlist and directed by Daniel AM Rosenberg. The 10-episode web series depicts life as a camgirl in a humorous, tongue-in-cheek way. The producers are Goldlist, Rosenberg and Jason Kennedy. “Cam_Girlfriend” was made possible by Canada’s Independent Production Fund.

“It’s always a wonderful feeling when people recognize something you worked hard to create,” said Rosenberg. “From the start, Chaturbate and the Independent Production Fund have supported us as we brought this series to life, and the fact that several outside organizations and outlets have honored the series with awards and selections is nothing short of amazing.”

Earlier this month, Rosenberg earned "Best Directing — Comedy" honors from the 12th annual Indie Series Awards.

The series won the "Webseries Canada Spotlight" award from the eighth annual T.O. WebFest last summer; read XBIZ's coverage of "Cam_Girlfriend" here.
