Pineapple Support to Host Workshop for Industry Members Affected by Ukraine War Today

LOS ANGELES — Pineapple Support will team with licensed mental health counselor Rachael Wells for a free online workshop with a specific focus on providing help for those affected by the current conflict in Ukraine today at 8 a.m. (PST)/6 p.m. GMT+2 (Ukraine)/7 p.m. GMT +3 (Moscow).

"For anyone that has been affected by the ongoing conflict, join us as we share coping mechanisms for how to manage the intense emotions that upsetting events like this can cause,” Wells said. “With so many suffering in both Ukraine and Russia, you may feel lost, hopeless, scared, exhausted or confused. In this workshop, we will focus on connection with others and a healing exercise to ground ourselves during an unexpected time."

Pineapple Support, founded in 2018 by Leya Tanit, has connected over 5,000 adult performers and industry members to mental health services, including free and low-cost therapy, counseling and emotional support.

"Traumatic and painful events like those we're witnessing at the moment can exasperate underlying mental health issues," said Tanit. "It's times like these when we all need to come together collectively and support each other. No one should be left to grapple with negative feelings alone and we hope this workshop can help those struggling to cope, together as a community."

The workshop, titled "Living in an Unstable World," is scheduled for one hour but may extend; certain themes and topics of discussion may be upsetting. Click here for additional details and register to access the workshop here.
