AWSummit Postpones Romania Event Until 2021

BUCHAREST — AWSummit has elected to postpone its summit to 2021 due to ongoing concerns related to the coronavirus pandemic.

Organizers had initially postponed the event to the end of August. "While many countries worldwide are getting ready to safely reopen, the COVID-19 situation continues to be very serious in Romania," explained a representative. "We feel it's going to be a long time before we can safely gather over 1,500 people in one location in Romania. Romania is taking every measure possible to open safely, but as in many other countries, both restaurants and clubs are the last ones on the list."

"The situation is still unclear and the president of Romania has said that he will not hesitate to close down the country again if the number of infected people rises again," continued the rep. "Traveling without being put in quarantine is also an issue that needs to be taken into consideration."

Citing "so many uncertainties" related to travel, and the safe congregation of large groups, organizers elected to postpone a second time.

"This was a hard decision to make, but with great support from our sponsors we feel that the most professional thing to do in this situation is to postpone the 2020 edition of AWSummit to 2021," said Event Director Roxana Chirila. "This comes with respect for your business and caring for your health and your loved ones."

Dates for the 2021 event will be announced later. Organizers will honor all tickets already sold for the 2020 edition at next year's event.
