Gwyneth Paltrow Talks Family's Approval of Selling Vibes on Goop

Gwyneth Paltrow Talks Family's Approval of Selling Vibes on Goop

LOS ANGELES — Academy Award-winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow recently appeared on ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" where she divulged the truth about what her family really thinks of her website Goop.com's foray into the adult retail space, namely, that they think she's a "feminist badass."

The latest episode of the popular late night talk show welcomed Paltrow for a discussion that highlighted her recently debuted Netflix show, "Goop Lab," as well as a few choice Goop products.

Kicking off the show, Kimmel teased, "I'm very interested in your life. The minute Goop came out I was ordering stuff from it."

The high-end wellness platform, along with "Goop Labs" has quickly gained Paltrow a reputation as an actress on a journey to illuminate "emerging science and alternative medicine," as she puts it.

On the show Paltrow spoke to her life in the public eye and the effect it's had on her family.

"They're really at the age where they start looking into what Mom's up to," prompted Kimmel, to which Paltrow shared her son Moses' sentiment that, while at first embarrassed to see vibrators on her site, he soon saw it as a "great thing."

"'You're a feminist mom, you're a badass,'" Paltrow related.

Goop features a cheeky "Between the Sheets" section, which includes brands such as Dame Products, Sliquid and LELO in their lineup of sexual wellness offerings, amongst several more controversial items, such as the Goop-brand jade eggs.

The duo discussed "Goop Lab," which has sparked both praise and criticism, with the internet commentariat eager to take a stab at Paltrow and her various vulva-themed aesthetics, if not for the sake of adding their voice to the zeitgeist-iest thing to happen in 2020 thus far — the now-infamous "This Smells Like My Vagina" candle.

"It smells a little masculine really," mused Kimmel.

"It's a punk rock feminist statement to have that on your table," Paltrow clapped back.

Whatever it is, the candle sold out its initial offering at $75 a pop, allegedly prompting a Canadian company to create a "This Smells Like My Balls" candle in rebuttal, which they sold at a 25 percent increase "because of the wage gap," Paltrow explained.
