Pornhub 'Year In Review' Report Reveals 2019 Trends, Stats

LOS ANGELES — Pornhub has released its seventh annual "Year in Review" report, detailing 2019’s hottest trends, terms and searches, along with a recap of the year’s highlights on the popular adult video site.

The report, available on the Pornhub Insights blog, reveals the celebrities, happenings and events that influenced how people utilized and enjoyed the site over the year, with colorful charts for easy visualization of a massive amount of data.

The report divvies up the data into nearly a dozen categories, including the year in numbers; top searches and porn stars; traffic and time on-site; gender demographics; age demographics; devices and technology; celebrity searches; movie and television characters; video game searches; events, holidays and sports; and in-depth usage details from the site’s top 20 countries.

“Pornhub keeps on growing and it doesn’t show signs of letting up. In 2019 there were over 42 billion visits to Pornhub, which means there was an average of 115 million visits per day,” the report revealed and noted that this daily visitor volume equals the combined populations of Canada, Australia, Poland and the Netherlands, all visiting every day.

Among the usage highlights, Pornhub revealed that there were over 39 billion searches performed on the site (8.7 billion more than last year), along with more than 6.83 million new videos uploaded — a record number for the site.

“To put this in perspective, if you strung all of 2019’s new video content together and started watching them way back in 1850, you’d still be watching them today,” the report exclaimed. “If you copied all of 2019’s transferred data onto hard drives and stacked them, they would reach 100 km high — to the edge of space. Honestly, no matter which way you put it, that’s a lot of porn being enjoyed!”

In 2019, a growing number of people used Pornhub as a form of social media, with over 70 million messages sent between Pornhub users and 11.5 million comments left on videos; while 98,000 new models joined Pornhub — boosting its number of verified models to more than 130,000.

"That’s only part of the reason that 'amateur' was a search that defined 2019," the report stated; in 2019, the most-commented words were "good," "love," "like," "sexy," "pretty" and "nice" — not dissimilar to 2018.

“It’s comforting to know that some things never change,” notes the report's authors.
