xHamster Celebrates 'World Porn Pride' With Calendar of Sex History

LOS ANGELES — Celebrating “World Porn Pride,” xHamster has launched its “Days in Sex History” calendar, which features some highlights from the history of sexual liberation.

“Fifty years ago, the porn industry was born!” exclaimed a company rep of the October 21, 1969, launch of the Danish Sex 69 expo — the first public event bringing together porn producers without the threat of arrest and an example of the type of event listed on xHamster’s calendar. “The Scandinavian country was the first in the world to legalize hardcore films and on that day a revolution was born.”

Other listings for October 21 include Kim Kardashian’s birthday in 1980 and the anniversary of the filming of her sex tape with Ray J in 2007 as well as the publication of Madonna’s Sex book in 1992.

“These events are all milestones in proud, open, explicit sexuality, so to celebrate this historic occasion, we’ve proclaimed October 21 as ‘World Porn Pride Day’ — the day when thousands of years of harassment, arrest and shame began to fall,” the rep added and noted, “While we have nearly a hundred events on the calendar so far, we’re looking forward to adding more and building on it as time goes on.”

xHamster VP Alex Hawkins said the historic expo date was almost lost until his team began researching.

“Without Sex 69, xHamster would never exist,” Hawkins said. “We must remember these milestones in sexual liberation because our history is vital and important.”

“If we are not proud of our own history, how can we expect to defend it against religious zealots, NoFappers and anti-porn politicians?” Hawkins asked. “We must stand up every October 21 and proclaim that our enjoyment of adult entertainment is vital, healthy and normal. Happy World Porn Pride!”
