Kickstarter Approves 'Cute Little Fuckers' Gender-Inclusive Sex Toy Campaign

Kickstarter Approves 'Cute Little Fuckers' Gender-Inclusive Sex Toy Campaign

LOS ANGELES — Rarely does Kickstarter approve sex toy initiatives on its fundraising platform, but recently, gender-inclusive brand Cute Little Fuckers got the thumbs up to launch a $13,500 campaign.

Founder Step Tranovich spoke to TechCrunch about the approval, celebrating the milestone in bringing his dreams to fruition.

“I am gender-fluid and do a lot of sex-positive and queer activism,” Tranovich told TechCrunch. “I felt like there weren’t a lot of toys that felt gender-inclusive. As someone who spends a lot of time helping people feel more sexually expressive, a lot of toys felt very stiff or foreboding.”

Aiming to transcend more traditional cis and heternormative marketing approaches, Cute Little Fuckers is designing its inclusive sex toys after four monster-themed models that were narrowed down from 60 concept sketches by 100 different people.

Not only do these beasties come with their very own web comic series, the toys will be USB rechargeable, waterproof, made of silicone and vibrate at five different speeds.

According to Kickstarter Senior Outreach Lead of Design and Technology Beau Ambur, who also spoke with TechCrunch, “This is the first one that has been approved for a while. A large part of that was because of the type of project and the values it’s representing — specifically the inclusivity and sex-positive aspects are what we felt fit really well with our values.”
