Erika Lust, LustCinema Distance Themselves From Anti-Porn Guardian Article

LOS ANGELES — LustCinema and Erika Lust have released a statement clarifying some quotes attributed to the filmmaker that U.K. newspaper The Guardian published yesterday in an article attacking the porn industry.

The Guardian piece, sensationally titled “The Fatal, Hateful Rise of Choking During Sex” was co-authored by Anna Moore and Coco Khan and is the latest piece in the British publication’s ongoing campaign against porn.

The Guardian — like Kamala Harris and New York Times’ ob/gyn expert Jen Gunter — are vocal examples of how SWELs (Sex Work Exclusionary Liberals) use their platforms to ignore the voices of sex workers and adult performers.

"Yesterday, U.K. newspaper The Guardian released an article about a supposed trend of erotic choking,” reads the LustCinema statement. “They quoted Erika Lust to support their position, which could be interpreted as an attack on the large segment of the adult industry devoted to exploring different expressions of sexuality, particularly kinks and BDSM. LustCinema and Erika Lust do not share the authors' general take, which appears to place the blame for social trends on an industry currently under attack around the world from conservatives and also from supposedly liberal sources like The Guardian.”

"Also, LustCinema and Erika Lust do not agree with the authors' characterization of Erika Lust as 'one of the world's only porn directors.' In fact, one of the main points of relaunching LustCinema as a U.S. studio is to showcase the excellent work of the many experienced, talented women who are producing some of the best, most recognized work in the industry."
