ExoGroup Debuts Age Verification Service

BARCELONA — Digital technology enterprise business group ExoGroup has announced a significant investment in the development of age verification technology to be marketed under the brand name AgeGO.

According to the company, the AgeGO platform was developed as a technology solution for the forthcoming law from the U.K. Government: The Digital Economies Act 2017, which should come into force in Q2 of this year. The law requires commercial websites showing adult content that targets U.K. traffic to verify each U.K. user’s age before allowing them access to the content on the website.

When a user visits a website, the technology enables the site to insert a fully responsive “own brand” pop up widget that requests the user choose an approved method of age verification, such as passport, drivers’ license, mobile phone, or credit card, etc. The whole verification process takes a few seconds and once the end user’s proof of age is verified, the end user can then see the website’s content.

The company says the process will be certified by the BBFC, is fully GDPR compliant and no user data is stored.

For website publishers, integration of AgeGO verification technology is as simple as copying and pasting a script of code into their website. Additionally, publishers are provided with transparent real-time statistics available via AgeGOs dashboard.

“AgeGO’s proprietary technology has been designed to be easily integrated into any website seamlessly to meet their age verification needs,” stated ExoGroup’s CEO. “It is of paramount importance that we protect individuals’ user data and we developed a system that ensures total anonymity for the end user.”

“The technology platform opens up the age verification market for ExoGroup,” the CEO added, “and the technology can be adopted in the future by websites selling products such as alcohol and gambling that all require an approved form of online age verification.”

AgeGO will be at The European Summit in Cascais from March 1-4 at meet market table 133.
