Bang Bros Calls Out Bogus Model-Recruitment Scheme

LOS ANGELES — Bang Bros today issued a “fraud alert” via Twitter about a bogus model-recruitment scheme using the adult brand’s trademarked name to rip off respondents.

The scheme involves an individual or individuals using a Twitter handle that hits up others with the message: “Hello how are you doing. My name is Abigail, and I am Bang Bros’ recruiting agent. I’ve been recruiting for Bang Bros Inc. for three years now. This is good news to those who are willing to become Bang Bros porn stars and also want to be famous because. Bang Bros is holding a recruitment program around the globe. With just $255 you can get yourself recruited under Bang Bros porno recruitment program. Reply back if you’re interested or write us via bangbrospornorecuirtment@gmail.com.”

Bang Bros, via Twitter, included a screen shot of text that was tweeted to an individual involved in the adult entertainment industry. The solicitation led back to a Twitter account identified as @Abigail64244318 and “Bang Bros Recruitment Program.”

The Twitter account said: “If you are interested to become a popular porn star and want to make good money out of this career, just send me a message.”

The Free Speech Coalition today responded to Bang Bros’ Twitter response to the scheme, saying that potential models can always check in with the adult trade group to confirm the identity of solicitors.

"We've been seeing a rise in bogus model recruitment over the past few years, ranging from financial scams to rape-by-fraud,” FSC Communications Director Mike Stabile told XBIZ. “Unfortunately, it's rarely treated with any seriousness from law enforcement.

“We've been working with performers and producers to raise awareness within the community and issuing public alerts anytime we see new scam. Any performer who wants to confirm a potentially fraudulent contact can always contact FSC directly at info@freespeechcoalition.com."
