Mainstream Studio Commits to TV Series About Porn Biz

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. — Mainstream producer Alexander Rodnyansky’s new film production company, AR Content, has green lighted a new TV drama series that focuses on a woman working in the porn biz, according to a report today in Variety.

The series, titled “Everybody’s Woman,” will be set primarily in Budapest, one of the largest metropolitan porn hubs of the world. Production will be chiefly shot in English, with some Hungarian and other languages included.

Rodnyansky is the producer of the mainstream films “Leviathan” and “Loveless” through his AR Films division. During his career, the Ukranian and Russian film director, film producer, television executive and businessman has produced more than 30 films and more than 20 TV series.

AR Content was introduced earlier this year by the producer to deliver “high-end film, TV and limited series featuring multicultural and multilingual content.”

The first season of “Everybody’s Woman” will focus on a young woman who jumps into the world of porn out of financial necessity.

According to a statement by Rodnyansky’s production team, “Her journey will expose the changing attitudes towards women in an industry built around the exploitation of the female form.”

Kata Weber, who has worked with Mundruczo on other projects, will write and develop the series with Kornel Mundruczo, who has been tapped to direct the series.

Mundruczo told Variety: “Like filmmaking in general, the pornography industry has changed a lot over the past decade, and in many ways reflects and even perpetuates changing attitudes towards women. I’m excited to work with Kata and Alexander to explore these untold stories.”

Weber added: “It’s important to see this changing world through female eyes. It’s easy to judge this industry, which, at its core, is mass-market exploitation of women’s bodies. Seeing it for all its nuances and rapid evolution is a more challenging, and more interesting, task for me as a storyteller.”
