IVD, ECN Invites Industry to Join 'Movember' Initiative

HIGHTSTOWN, N.J. — East Coast News (ECN), the nation’s largest adult products distributor, along with International Video Distributors (IVD) are giving back this November through their “Movember” initiative.

According to the company, members of the industry are invited to participate in “No-Shave November,” by ditching the razor and pledging donations for the Movember Foundation.

“IVD and ECN staff members will refrain from shaving for the month, raise funds and donate proceeds in an effort to raise awareness for prostate cancer and men’s health,” says a company spokesperson. “The Movember Foundation offers services for men, which includes education about prostate cancer, testicular cancer, suicide, advocating for men’s prostate health, supporting medical research and more.”

“We are asking our friends and partners to join our effort in this great cause!” ECN’s Anthony Pingicer adds. “Men’s health is in a crisis with prostate cancer rates set to double in the next 15 years so we are joining together with the Movember Foundation to raise awareness and call attention to the steps men can take to reduce their risk and battle this growing health crisis!”

As part of Movember, ECN’s Peter LaMantia will shave the beard he has been growing for the past 10 years so Movember starts off with a clean slate.

“I am very fond of my beard so I will definitely miss it when it’s gone,” LaMantia confides, “but raising awareness of prostate cancer is very important to me personally and to a lot of people who have been impacted by cancer in its many forms.”

Bathmate and Classic Brands have also joined in the fight this month by providing shaving essentials to participants of IVD and ECN’s Movember Initiative. To contribute to the cause, contact your IVD or ECN rep.
