Gamma to Oversee Operations of VividTV, Vivid.com

LOS ANGELES — Gamma Broadcast Group will oversee day-to-day operations of VividTV and Vivid.com, according to a deal between the companies announced today.

“It’s the perfect time to combine VividTV’s worldwide success in developing the adult TV business with Gamma’s online and technology expertise,” said Steven Hirsch, founder and co-chairman of Vivid.

Hirsch said that he and Vivid co-chairman Bill Asher will be intimately involved in the “strategic partnership” and will continue to oversee Vivid Radio and licensing activities.

In its 30 years, Studio City, Calif.-based Vivid has assembled one of the world’s largest archive of adult films of any single studio, which remain best sellers online, on broadcast and in stores throughout the world.

Gamma, a Saint-Laurent, Quebec, multimedia company specializing in e-commerce, is grouped around two major axes — the contextual marketing and the websites of internet entertainment.

Gamma provides broadcast VOD and linear around the world, managed IT services, website hosting and networking services to the adult entertainment industry, as well as offering brand building, affiliate program, online marketing, content encoding, site design and maintenance, and server management services.

“We are very excited to partner with Steven and Bill to take advantage of Vivid’s 35 years of history and strong industry foothold,” said Michael H. Klein, Gamma’s head of broadcasting and licensing.

“Combine that with all the award-winning content that Gamma Films produces, along with all the top brands for which we have exclusive worldwide broadcasting rights, and you have one of the stronger products to bring to the marketplace.”
