LOS ANGELES — Multi-XMAs winner Cherie DeVille is featured in a new article in Wired Magazine, titled "A Teen Girl’s Death Is Prompting Calls to Ban Choking in Porn."
In her article, writer Kat Tenbarge interviews DeVille along with researchers, legal experts, and additional adult industry figures to examine the health risks, cultural normalization, and regulatory debate surrounding sexual strangulation.
“This is a serious safety issue, and I don’t think anyone in the industry should minimize that,” said DeVille. “But banning a depiction does not automatically give people the information they need to understand the risks. Professional sets rely on communication, consent, and agreed boundaries, and the larger public conversation needs accurate education alongside any discussion of regulation.”
