Adult Empire Charts 1st 20 Years in YouTube Video

PITTSBURGH — Adult Empire (AE) has released a new YouTube video that takes a look back at its first 20 years in business, recounting the highlights since it launched as a specialty DVD retailer.

“Adult Empire has had an incredible history during its 20-year reign as porn’s retail leader,” begins the 3½-minute video in a timeline format that gives fans “a rundown of some of our most memorable moments, milestones and achievements.”

According to the company, since the sale of its very first adult DVD — Vivid Video’s “Bobby Sox” — the company formerly known as AdultDVDEmpire.com has been at the forefront of high-tech content delivery, including the 2002 introduction of video-on-demand with the release of “Da Juice,” a blowjob-themed movie from Legend.

The video timeline also charts a range of additional milestones, including its improved streaming service with the launch of DVD-quality downloads, adding VOD content in high definition in 2005, HD DVD in 2006, plus Blu-ray titles and a mobile (iOS) streaming platform in 2007.

AE was also a pioneer in offering pay-per-scene options to customers, debuted a fully responsive site, including AE On-Demand’s improved Roku app, partnered with TLA Entertainment on the re-launch of their website and looked to the future with virtual reality adult films.

In addition to its content viewing formats, AE has spent the last few years expanding its brand, launching the AdultEmpireCash affiliate program, the Unlimited subscription-based streaming service, as well as its boutique production studio, AE Films.

“As we embark on our third decade, we would like to thank our customers for an amazing 20 years,” said Megan Wozniak, AE’s director of marketing. “We can’t wait to see what the next 20 years have in store."

The anniversary video can be viewed here.
