Instagram Direct Adds Orientation, Website Links

Instagram Direct Adds Orientation, Website Links

LOS ANGELES — In what will doubtless prove a promotional boon to savvy camsters and a connection point with consumers, Instagram Direct now supports links to outside websites, as well as content in both landscape and portrait modes, bringing media of any orientation to the popular photo sharing site.

“Now, whenever you send a permanent photo or video to your friends in Direct from your camera roll, you don’t have to worry about cropping it,” stated an Instagram rep. “You can [also] share website links with friends and preview them directly from your thread.”

The update also provides links for phone numbers and addresses.

“Since introducing the new Instagram Direct in April, we’ve been excited to give people more ways to have fun, visual conversations,” the rep added, noting the company “[will] continue to make improvements to Instagram Direct throughout the year.”

With so many adult performers and popular personalities reaching out to their fans directly through social media platforms such as Instagram and Twitter, the hunt is always on to find better ways of boosting engagement — and now with the allowance of links and more flexible presentation options on Instagram, a new wave of interest in the platform for promotion is sure to come.
