LOS ANGELES — Lovehoney.com.au, in partnership with Associate Professor Paul Maginn of the University of Western Australia, has announced the results of its recent analysis and mapping of the geographical distribution of more than $10M in adult product sales since the country’s last election.
By mapping this data at the federal electorate level, the study has created an “Oz Dildex” Poll Rating.
According to Lovehoney Australia’s General Manager Rob Goodwin, the Oz Dildex ranks the sales of adult products by each electorate and identifies sexual consumerism across Australia, creating a league table of Australia’s sexiest electorates ahead of the election on Saturday, July 2.
The study found that the top 10 sexiest electorates are led by Deputy Opposition Leader, Tanya Plibersek, the member for Sydney. Her electorate dominated the Oz Dildex in terms of both the overall value and volume of sales. Second was the Green’s Adam Bandt and third was WA’s Melissa Price with Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull’s electorate, Wentworth, coming in at a respectable 15th.

“Adult retailing is clearly big business in terms of sales and revenue,” says Dr. Maginn. “The growth in the adult retail sector, especially online stores, is a useful indicator not only of the state of our sexual consumerism, but also our sexual citizenship.”
Goodwin explains that “adult products are about fun and enjoyment and enhancing sexual health and lifestyles,” and believes that the Prime Minister and Opposition leader might have some interesting bedtime reading over these statistics.
