Alec Helmy, Brian Shuster to Discuss Future of 3D Virtual Porn at SXSW

AUSTIN, Texas — XBIZ and Utherverse will combine forces to present “Future of Porn is 3D Virtual Reality” at SXSW, the series of innovative media and technology events held annually in Austin.

XBIZ Founder Alec Helmy and Utherverse CEO Brian Shuster will co-present a tech forward session exploring the impact of virtual reality and its potential adult entertainment applications.

XBIZ is credited with being the top authority in coverage of the rapidly evolving adult industry, with unparalleled knowledge of and emphasis on technology, while Utherverse and its RedLightCenter.com virtual realm are on the cutting edge of Oculus Rift development and related advancements that are set to reshape interactive adult entertainment.

Formally known as South by Southwest, SXSW offers a unique, in-depth convergence of original music, independent films and emerging technologies that showcases the best new digital works, video games and ideas the international community has to offer.

The event attracts business, industry and policy leaders, as well as tech innovators and entertainers. Past participants and speakers have included Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Craigslist founder Craig Newmark, Wikipedia co-founder Jimmy Wales, Bruce Springsteen and Conan O'Brien, among others.

“The fluid, technology driven nature of the adult entertainment business is reaching a tipping point,” Helmy explains. “Lifelike experiences made possible through Virtual Reality will eventually supplant traditional forms of entertainment, providing incredible opportunities for early adopters that embrace this brave new world.”

According to Shuster, entertainment for adults, sex and porn are about to leap into the future in a way that is unlike anything that has ever happened before.

“Virtual Reality sex, teledildonics and haptic devices have all started to debut this year, and in no time at all, it’s how most of your friends will be getting each other off,” Shuster says. “I’m excited to be able to discuss what's just around the corner for sex and porn, and really, life as we know it before VR.”

The SXSW Interactive event will take place at multiple venues across Austin, from March 13-17, 2015.

The exact date, location and time of Shuster and Helmy’s session has yet to be announced. Stay tuned for further details on this highly anticipated session as they become available.
