Video: Flynt Weighs In on Obama's Net Neutrality Comments

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. — LFP Inc. President Larry Flynt this afternoon weighed in on the hot topic of the day on FOX Business: President Obama's comments on net neutrality.

Obama today called on the FCC to significantly expand its regulatory control over ISPs, saying the “strongest possible rules” are needed to protect consumers and ensure that the Internet doesn’t become divided into fast and slow lanes.

Flynt, in a FOX Business segment, agreed with Obama's stance for bright-line rules that ban ISPs from blocking websites or cutting deals with content companies for faster access to users.

"I don't think anyone can question my devotion to the First Amendment, and I think this is an issue where I have to error on the side of the First Amendment," Flynt told FOX. "To allow a group of large operators to control Internet access really siphons free speech in a big way."

Calling the FCC "a political organization," Flynt went on to say that the U.S. government should keep the Internet "as it was originally designed: free access for everyone."

"You know we can't say we support a constitutional form of government and be against net neutrality," he said. "It just doesn't add up."

"All of the big cable companies are doing well. Let's not forget about what the American people are entitled to; not just what the ISPs want."

LFP Inc. manages the Hustler brand of adult products and services, including more than 60 websites; 11 retail stores; Hustler magazine; DVD distribution through its Hustler Video, VCA and HIS brands; a Hustler casino in Gardena, Calif.; and 11 Larry Flynt’s Hustler clubs.

In 2012, LFP purchased Boulder, Colo.-based New Frontier Media, a broadcast company, which at the time also was publicly traded. That year, LFP also acquired broadcast outlet Sapphire Media in London.
