ASACP Reveals Featured Sponsors for August

LOS ANGELES — The Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP) has announced its Featured Sponsors for August, 2014.

Each month, the association names select sponsors in recognition of their outstanding efforts and ongoing support in helping to protect children online.

According to ASACP Executive Director, Tim Henning, the association’s Featured Sponsors program honors providers of digital media and related services that have demonstrated their support, while identifying those industry leaders that set a responsible example for their peers.

“By helping to protect children from being exposed to inappropriate material on the Internet or via mobile apps, ASACP’s Featured Sponsors show that profits and protection can work hand-in-hand,” Henning explains. “This illustrates the value of proactive self-regulation as an alternative to mandatory measures that can be over-reaching, such as in the U.K., where the ISP-level filtering is reportedly over-blocking 20 percent of websites.”

“ASACP would not be able to carry out its mission without the ongoing, generous support of its sponsors,” Henning added. “From technical measures such as RTA labeling to adherence to our Best Practices and Code of Ethics, ASACP’s valued sponsors are making a difference in the lives of today’s digitally-connected youth.”

For August, ASACP recognizes four of its sponsors: Southern Charms, Imlive, Girlfriends Films and GT Bill, for their generous long-term support.

Southern Charms
Online since 1996 and an ASACP Title Sponsor since 2003, Southern Charms is one of the world’s largest amateur websites, providing girls over the age of 18 an opportunity to have their own website. Accessible to adults only, Southern Charms prides itself in being a very clean site that offers licensed models whose ages have been verified; with model releases on file for each model.

“You will not find any obscene material [or any underage models] at all on Southern Charms. You will only find clean adult amateur fun,” states a company rep. “Please rest assured that if someone communicates to us that they are interested in underage pictures of models, we will report it to the appropriate authorities immediately.”

In addition to its support of ASACP, Southern Charms backs up its business philosophy by making use of RTA labeling and a clean warning page, as well as by securing explicit content within a premium members’ area.

ImLive
Joining ASACP as a Corporate Sponsor in 2007, ImLive is a premium provider of live interactive webcam services, which unites a global base of individual performers and studios with customers from around the world.

This puts the company straight at the forefront of ASACP’s mission to keep children out of and away from adult entertainment, which it does by requiring chat hosts to provide photo identification for age verification and by limiting explicit displays to paid private shows.

Beyond these measures and its support of ASACP, ImLive shows its commitment to online child safety by making use of RTA labeling and by offering a warning page overlay.

Girlfriends Films
An ASACP Corporate Sponsor since 2008, Girlfriends Films produces and distributes lesbian themed adult entertainment “for fine folks with good hearts and curious minds.”

A progressive company that is committed to quality and responsibility, Girlfriends Films offers a range of products including DVDs as well as membership and clip sites and video on demand services, which it secures behind a pay wall to limit free access.

Girlfriends Films not only sponsors ASACP, but it upholds the spirit of the association and its mission by using RTA labeling and through the use of warning pages before content.

GT Bill
Signing on as an ASACP Corporate Sponsor in 2009, GT Bill was formed in 2006 to offer a safe and secure solution for credit card processing and global payment gateway services, with a focus on streamlining purchases across borders.

GTBill’s flexible payment solutions allow clients to process credit cards, electronic checks, telephone orders and more. While the company is a financial services organization and not involved in adult content sales other than to provide the transactional capabilities that adult entertainment companies require, GTBill still plays an important role in protecting children, through its sponsorship of ASACP and through its ongoing reviews of client sites.

From premium adult content to live webcams, from video producers to online billing services and more, ASACP’s family of sponsors represent a responsible group of businesses that make “doing the right” thing part of their corporate culture — and your company should too.
