NakedSword Promotion

SAN FRANCISCO — Gay VOD company NakedSword.com has rolled out a three-day, $5.95 trial for its VIP membership site after a highly successful beta launch this summer, a company spokesman said.

"Given the amount of high-profile content available to our members, we didn't see our regular membership [priced at $39.95] as too high," NakedSword President Tim Valenti said. "In fact, many studios have told us that it's underpriced. Many consumers, however, are wary of a commitment at a high entry point, so we offered $5.95 with a full recurring membership in late summer as a test. The response to the promotion was beyond expectations.”

"Not only did consumers stampede to the lower price point, they've continued on to full memberships at an astounding rate of 40 percent," Director of Affiliates and Strategic Partnerships Holly Ruprecht said. "Consumers are willing to pay higher prices for a great selection of top content, but they are wary after years of surfing sites that promise but don't deliver."
