FDA Warns of 3 Sexual Enhancement Products

WASHINGTON — The Food and Drug Administration is warning consumers about three sexual enhancement products sold on various websites — Stree Overlord, France T253 and African Black Ant.

All three products, the FDA says, contain sildenafil, the active ingredient in erectile dysfunction prescription Viagra. African Black Ant also includes tadalafil, the ingredient used in Cialis, in addition to sildenafil.

African Black Ant, according to one website that markets the male sexual enhancement pill, lists numerous ingredients — Saffron, caterpillar fungus, lotus, deer penis, tibetan yak testis, fur seal penis, hippocampus  — but no sildenafil or tadalafil.

Stree Overlord markets its product on several websites using the tale of so-called Japanese legend Stree.

"Stree was a tiger of a man with a body built in the God's image," a retailer's website says. "Women melted when they saw him in the streets."

France T253, in its marketing materials, claims to have an "exceptional effect on the heart, kidneys, blood, sexual internal organs, ageing procedure and the entire physique function."

Consumers are advised to stop using the products immediately and throw them away.

"Sildenafil and tadalafil may interact with nitrates found in some prescription drugs such as nitroglycerin and may lower blood pressure to dangerous levels," the FDA says. "Men with diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol or heart disease often take nitrates."

A number of websites, including eBay.com, market all three pills for about $2-$3 a piece.
