Good Vibrations Partners With Planned Parenthood

SAN FRANCISCO — Good Vibrations has partnered with Planned Parenthood Shasta Pacific to raise funds for the organization throughout April and May.

On Feb. 18, the U.S. House of Representatives voted to bar Planned Parenthood health centers from all federal funding.

If the legislation is enacted it will leave millions without basic health care, Good Vibrations said.

“We support Planned Parenthood’s commitment to comprehensive sex education and information and have supported Planned Parenthood in many different ways throughout the years,” Good Vibrations COO Jackie Strano said. "Planned Parenthood has stood by women and their health and well-being for over 95 years, and we intend to support them to ensure that they can continue to provide quality service to women everywhere. We respect women’s autonomy, intelligence, and access to safe and legal health care.”

As of April 1, Good Vibrations customers can support Planned Parenthood Shasta Pacific, which serves San Francisco and 16 other northern California counties by making a financial gift at the time of their Good Vibrations purchase in any Good Vibrations retail stores.

“We have partnered with Planned Parenthood throughout the years, but never has it been more necessary than it is now — their funding situation is dire,” staff sexologist Dr. Carol Queen said. “We are confident that our customers will appreciate an easy opportunity to make a difference, for themselves and people in their communities. Access to positive, inclusive reproductive health care is simply not something we can take for granted anymore.”

“GiVe” is Good Vibrations' donation and sponsorship program. For more than 30 years Good Vibrations has partnered with hundreds of local and national non-profit organizations donating products, advertising and sponsorship for fundraisers and has provided much needed support for women’s shelters, HIV/AIDS research, art programs, LGBT benefits, breast cancer awareness and more.

Additionally, every several months Good Vibrations partners with a different nonprofit organization and encourages their customers to contribute directly to them at checkout, online and in the stores.
