2nd Suit Involving Mansef, Ventura Content Is Dismissed

LOS ANGELES — Ventura Content and Mansef have settled a suit brought forth by Mansef over the alleged infringement of keywords used on Google Adwords to divert traffic.

The dismissal of the suit comes nearly two weeks after another suit involving the companies was dismissed at federal court in New York. That suit, initiated by Ventura Content, targeted four Mansef tube sites that allegedly infringed on 45 copyrighted movies.

Officials at both Ventura Content and Mansef declined comment to XBIZ relative to the voluntary dismissal in the second suit, which was filed yesterday. Each party will bear its own respective costs and fees.

In the second suit filed in August, Mansef sued Ventura Content, Pink Visual's parent company and its Denali Holdings unit, claiming copyright infringement from the alleged use of Brazzers' trademark.

Mansef said the infringement stems from the use of Adwords and the defendants drive to divert traffic "from the trademark owner’s website and onto the competitors website.”

Mansef said the defendants purchased various permutations of the word Brazzers, knowing that Brazzers is the plaintiff’s well-known brand and with deliberate intent to harm plaintiffs.

Those Google Adwords keywords include “Brazzers,” “Brazzers Mobile,” and “Brazzers Vids,” among others, according to the original complaint.
