Tenga Granted U.S. Patent

ATLANTA — OneUp Innovations, the exclusive distributor of Tenga products in the U.S., announced that Tenga has received a U.S. patent on the Japanese company’s line of Tenga Cup male masturbator products.

The U.S. Trademark Office granted the patent on July 13 and covers approximately 85 percent of the Tenga product line.

"The granting of this U.S. patent recognizes the unique design of Tenga products,” said Louis Friedman, president and CEO of OneUp Innovations, Inc. "We believe the new U.S. patent will strengthen the Tenga brand and as a result, our business development group is aggressively pursuing additional merchandising opportunities for the Tenga product line."

As the exclusive North American branding partner for Tenga, OneUp Innovations distributes Tenga products directly through its ecommerce Liberator.com consumer website and through wholesale merchandising.

Tenga is currently the No.1-selling male sex toy in Japan, the company said. According to OneUp Innovations, its partnership with Tenga was designed to translate that popularity to North American success, and a U.S. patent is an important step in that process.

“We are very excited about the U.S. patent for Tenga products,” said Tsutomu Matsumoto, president and founder of Tenga. “It has been several years in the making, and it has finally been awarded. We appreciate all of the hard work OneUp Innovations has done for us to build our brand, and we look forward to continuing that relationship in the future.”

Tenga products are available for wholesale purchase exclusively through OneUp Innovations.
